Premature Babies

Yesterday was the naming ceremony of Prithvi, the son of one of my close colleagues. He was born premature. However, his age is legally six months, eventhough he was premature by about two months. Aren't these kind of babies at a disadvantage?

Shouldn't the two months "prematureness" be deducted from their age? Then again what can two months of deduction give you. The only affect is if you are born in the border months of december or january. Then it affects school admissions. So, should it be deducted or not?

What makes you think a tornado can't do that? ;)
Believe more than what you see, then you obviously end up seeing more!

Some of your lines are off Michael Crichtons book. Thought it sounded familiar!

Anyway, I dont believe that evolution is a comprehensive theory. No theory is comprehensive. There are loopholes and exceptions, which cannot be explained. For example, the mere fact of their being human beings, who can change and alter the environment that they live in, goes against evolution, which relies on a "balance". But we have somehow broken the balance.

But as theories go, this theory satisfies most of the questions raised, but not all. So until someone comes up with a better theory, I accept it.

And also chance, or I like to call it "serendipity", IS a force to be reckoned with. For example pennicillin was discovered "by chance". So was the microwave. OK, pennicillin has had a more positive effect to humanity and civilization as a whole than that of the microwave. I cant think of any other chance occurences which changed the path of human civilization, but if you do google it, you should get some more.
Some people dont agree with serendipity. They say, that there must be some sort of a prepration of the mind, or else it will not occur. But this is another train of thought altogether
